The Municipality of Malalag is now declared as the “1st Drug-Cleared Municipality” in the Province of Davao del Sur and one of first 7 Municipalities in the region deliberated by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The declaration was made today, November 16, 2022 at the PRO 11,Camp Sgt Quintin M Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City.
The said deliberation was attended by Hon. Peter Paul T. Valentin, Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ervin S. Emphasis-Vice Mayor, MLGOO Michelle T. Encabo-DILG Malalag, PCPT. Jocyviel Zamora-PNP Malalag, Dra Teresita G. Emphasis-CBDRP Focal/MHO, Ms. Rachel D. Gomez-MADAC Focal Person, Ms. Leah A. Frias-Balay Silangan FP/MSWDO, Ms. Lyssa Mae G. Cabaobao-Municipal Administrator,Ms. Anefel Esposo-BS Admin, Jenny Rose V. Nuñez-MADAC Alternate FP, and Mr. Francisco Ray L. Banlasan-PADAC MAPALAD Coordinator.
It’s a momentous event at the same time fulfilling for the 15 barangays (BADAC) and all Malalagueños. The continued fight against illegal drugs is one of the priorities of the Municipality pursuant to the DDB Regulation No. 3 series of 2017 re “Strengthening the implementation of Barangay Drug Clearing program. This is a holistic and synchronized approach that needs collaboration among various stakeholders in the government.
Moreover, the Municipality’s Balay Silangan is also the 1st Operational Balay Silangan in Davao del Sur operated by the Municipal Government with 7 drug reformists who completed the Phase 1 (Mandatory In-house) Reformation Program on October 27, 2022.
The collaborative effort of all stakeholders now gained success and will continuously implement anti-illegal drug programs/operations to maintain its drug-cleared status.
